Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones released since around 2018 support eSIM, and the list grows every year. Two quick checks tell you if yours is ready for a travel eSIM.
The quick checks
Look for an “Add eSIM” or “Add data plan” option under Settings → Cellular/SIM manager. Or dial *#06# — if it shows an EID number alongside the IMEI, your phone has an eSIM.
Common supported models
iPhone XR/XS and newer; Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, plus recent Z Fold/Flip; Google Pixel 3 and newer; and many recent Motorola and others. Your phone also needs to be carrier‑unlocked.
FAQ
Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes — a carrier‑locked phone may refuse a third‑party eSIM. Most phones bought outright are unlocked.
